Using Remote Assistance in 1366×768?

Posted by

A while ago we got a new model from Dell to certify, Latitude E4310, and during the certification we noticed that Remote Assistance didn’t work in the optimized screen resolution 1366×768. It looked like this

First we thought it was something wrong with the Intel drivers, but we could replicate the problem with both Dell and HP using NVidia graphic cards as well.

We started to look at the group policy settings regarding Remote Assistance and came to the Turn on bandwidth optimization and noticed that if you enabled this and use one of the first three options it will not work, but if you choose Full optimization it works like a charm!

To summarize the problem only affects screen resolution 1366×768 while Turn on bandwidth optimization is not set to Full optimization, strange but true Smile
