Windows 8: Getting things ready

Time for more Windows 8 questions…

A while ago I got a question about the “While we’re getting things ready” welcome screen if it’s possible to disable it.

So.. yes there is a group policy setting that will help to enable or disable this.

The default is to show this guide and will help your users to get familiar to the new user interface.

There is an option to disable this guide and the user will just see a couple of text messages instead, like this

I totally recommend to keep this setting to default, but as many other things it’s up to you to change it if you want to

You will find it here:
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Logon\Show first sign-in animation

and press OK and wait for group policy refresh!
